Qld: Mop up in south-east Queensland after wild storms=2

Occupants of a house at Esk in the Brisbane Valley were forced to flee their burninghouse during the storm after a suspected lightning strike.

Police say the family -- including nine children -- escaped unharmed from the houseat Mount Hallen after they heard a loud explosion and saw sparks flying from the fusebox about 8pm (AEST) yesterday.

A fire quickly engulfed the home, which was totally destroyed.

Investigations are continuing, but police believe lightning may have caused the initialexplosion.
