FISHING FORECAST.(SPORTS)

1. LAKE ONTARIO -- GOOD -- Salmon action is best of the season. The action has moved closer to shore using cut baits at 20-40 feet in the Mexico Bay area. Bass fishing continues to be good at 20 feet on the bottom in the area around the Fitzpatrick Plant. Crawfish working best in closer to shore. 2. SALMON RIVER -- FAIR -- Salmon starting to arrive, but not as many as expected. Expect a rush of fish any day now. 3. AUSABLE -- GOOD -- Try streamers and large nymphs in the morning. Switch to blue-winged olives and isonychia in the afternoon. Spinners working best later in the day and evening. Best time to try is 1-5 p.m. 4. LAKE CHAMPLAIN -- FAIR -- A number of smallmouth bass being taken on the reefs with jigs and crank baits. …
