SCHENECTADY -- The last time Maura O'Connell came to Schenectady, Central Park did its best to imitate old Ireland. Mist, rain and a bit of a chill greeted the County Clare native as she offered her songs on the Music Haven stage.
Sunday, the rain stayed away, but the heat and humidity made it feel a little moist anyway -- not that anyone seemed to mind.
O'Connell, who calls Nashville home, sang her heart out in the park, as she always does. Few contemporary singers have such an ear for a good tune, and fewer still deliver them with the consistency and Celtic soul that O'Connell brings to every effort. …
